Last summer, pap’s got an extra tall coffee (for free) from SB. He must have kept that cup, so I’ll find it this Father’s Day. (or maybe, I’ll just brew him one).
I have already published an early father’s day blog for my father last June 15, after seeing from Twitter that #FathersDay is trending. So, just to keep the vibe on, and to be one with the world in celebrating Father’s Day, I will find that SB cup which I suspect was kept unnoticed–as souvenir.
Coffee has become a symbol within many filipino families. As one commercial says, there are lot of good coffee, but there’s this ‘great taste’ one. That is how I describe my father. He’s like a coffee. Not that he’s hot, dark or strong smelling like cafe americano but, like other dads out there, he is very much not uncommon. He smokes, he drinks, he laughs hard, he eats a lot and he has unregulated serum glucose levels. (I know your dads have mostly the same issues though). However, like the ‘great taste’ coffee commercial, my father is unique. As I have said before, he is a superhero, a mentor, a provider and a whole lot more. He is like a coffee that you cannot buy from a department store. (Well, I dare you to find Nestor’s coffee and you’ll get a good prize!). He is just like most fathers out there. He is not ashamed to walk on just short shorts, because he thinks he’s superman. I told you, he’s a superhero.)
And being that kind of coffee he is, I won’t trade him for a Starbucks coffee, even a Venti hot chocolate, my favorite drink. Lastly, ssshhhh coz’ he doesn’t know I am blogging about him. He might be very famous in the net now, for what I have done. Peace yo’! Happy Father’s day Papa.
